Paris to Vijayawada

Education in France:

The people here firstly concentrate on their language. They give a higher importance for it. The colleges try to give practical knowledge by exploring them in industrial training. For example if you consider my college, here students study for 5 years to obtain both bachelors and masters. And at every stage they are involved with an internship. For 1st year it is up to 45 days, 2nd year 2 months, 4th year 4 months and final year 6 months. By doing all these, they get a lot of practical explorer which make companies easy to hire them. This point can be seen only at IIT’s in India.

Coming to children’s education, it is much more with activities, and they taught in French which makes them comfortable to learn. Every village or town is having a library which is free for students, and even parents encourage children to take them to library. Even this can have in India when the children have time to do it, if you consider now there are a few schools which are having libraries and makes the children to learn. The effect of cooperate schools make the children not to learn ethics or moral values, they are just mugging up the subject which makes a child life horrible. At the end of the day he wants patience, how to tackle with different problems in life and how to behave in society.

Culture in France:

The people wish one another with a great smile ‘bonjour, salut’, which is very often in India. I mean with an unknown person. Let me give an example to be more clear ‘I am going out for jogging, I am jogging in the ground where there are some other persons sitting or doing their own work. They saw me and they just greet ‘bonjour or bonne journee’ something like this’. And these try to help you when you are in need. On the first day of my arrival I am just confused after getting down of the tram at 2 A.M in the morning and how to reach the university. As I don’t have any map or taxis that can drop me there. At last I left myself to god and asked for a lift, a man stopped the car and even he knows little English which makes difficult to communicate. He knows the address he offered me to get into the car and I am tensed whether to take it or not. But I made myself strong and get into the car. At most one hour he is searching for the hostel, in the morning I just noticed that it is 400 metres walk. But during night he is unable to find the route into hostel and there is no security guard at that time so he refused me to leave me allow and later he had taken me to a nearby hotel but they are filled, so he is keep on moving searching. I asked him please drop in university I can manage, then he dropped me there and gave his number to contact him in the morning. After few minutes the security guard came and gave me the room so I got the room at 3:10 AM. This example shows how kind they are. Even in India we can see these.

The only difference between India and France is development, as it is a developed country the facilities are high and the opportunities are high. We make (Indians) our life complicated by lots of tensions. As we have to give dowry for our children and everything is more the middle class men salary and parents earn a lot to the next coming generations. Here the government takes taxes while working and once u are out of job, you will be getting pension so that he can live comfortable. As these grew up as an individual from the childhood they don’t bother about their family which is strange for us.

  2. The guy who wrote this article is a fellow student of mine. we both studied Bachelors in MIC college. though we are from different streams we used to travel in a same college bus. he is a nice guy and is still remember his name Praneeth. This passage he wrote describes the humanity of French people and their education system. we must try to implement the described educational model in our schools. this way we will be able to help the future generations grow confident about their role in society.
