సర్వేపల్లి వారి తరగతి గదిలో తెలుగు రచయితకి చిరు సత్కారం

భారత రాష్ట్రపతి సర్వేపల్లి రాధాకృష్ణ గారి గురించి సెప్టెంబర్ 5వ తారీఖున ఆయన పుట్టినరోజు జరుపుకుంటూ ఉపాధ్యాయులు అనేక విషయాలు చెబుతూ ఉంటారు పిల్లలు కూడా ఆయన గురించి అనేక విషయాలు చెబుతూ ఉంటారు ఆయన మీద ఎక్కడా లేని ప్రేమ అభిమానంచూపిస్తారు. 

నేను ఇక్కడ మైసూర్ యూనివర్సిటీలోని హ్యుమానిటీస్ డిపార్ట్‌మెంట్ మొదటి అంతస్తులో ఉన్న సర్వేపల్లి రాధాకృష్ణన్ గారి  క్లాస్ రూమ్‌లో నా భార్య వరలక్ష్మితో కలిసి చిరు సత్కారం అందుకున్నాను.   మైసూర్ యూనివర్సిటీ కి  ఫారిన్   లాంగ్వేజెస్ సెమినార్ నిమిత్తం వెళ్లిన నాకు  చిరు సత్కారం జరిగింది.  ఈ చిరు సత్కారమే నాకు ఘన  సత్కారం

ఒక ఊరు పేరు లేని ఒక చిన్న నటి కానీ నటుడు కానీ ఒక బట్టల షాపు ఓపెనింగ్ చేయడానికి వస్తే వాళ్ల మీద జనాలు ఎగబడిపోవడం వాళ్ళని పోలీసులు కంట్రోల్ చేయడం మనం చూస్తూ ఉంటాం. అలా పండితులను కలవడానికి ఎప్పుడైతే తహతహలాడుతూ ముందుకు వస్తుందో అప్పుడే మన అభివృద్ధి చెందినట్లు భావించుకోవాలి అప్పుడే మన నాణ్యమైన విద్యను అందిస్తున్నట్టు భావించుకోవాలి. ఆయనే బతికి ఉంటే నిజజీవితంలో ఆయన్ని కలవాలని ఎంతమంది కోరుకుంటారు? అలా కోరుకునే వారిలో ఆయన పనిచేసిన యూనివర్సిటీకి ఆయన కూర్చుని కూర్చి దగ్గరికి ఎంతమంది వెళ్లగలుగుతారు?

సరే అందరికీ అదృష్టం ఉండకపోవచ్చు కానీ నాకు అదృష్టం ఉంది నేను నిజమైన అదృష్టవంతుణ్ణి అని  భావిస్తున్నాను.  తత్వశాస్త్ర ప్రొఫెసర్. డేనియల్ గారిచే గౌరవించబడటం గొప్ప సన్మానం.

Brindavan gardens - today

The vast lawns, the tall trees and colorful lighting. large ponds, the fountains, boating in the lake and finally a fantastic romantic  filming location that hosted more hundreds of old movies is losing glint.  what is it?

   It's nationally famed Brindavan gardens.

The Brindavan garden is heart touching. but if you look closely, it's heartbreaking. The tiling in pools is largely damaged, the parapet walls around the pools are broken, the pipes gathered rust. yet nothing can affect visitor's enthusiasm. Thousands of people visit each day. 

The glint is lost but not its charm. 

it’s largely nature and greenery that influence our mind. The name Brindavan is a tug at heart. For me it's more psychological than physical. its image is ever rich.  I deal with its image. Most people deal with it the same way. In fact Brindavan captivates our heart with its rich image.  

RK Narayan's house.

On Friday the 8th December 2023, I visited R.K .Narayan's House in Mysore which is turned into a museum by the Government.

A popular columnist,  a  novelist and a legendary author R k needs no introductio n. I am fortunate to see another admirer a lady at his house who was taking pictures like me. The painful fact is that there are few admirers for writers now a days. I being a writer naturally admire him.

My admiration for him is natural but the reason is shocking.   

He is not simply a great author but also an eyeopener in a society full of uneducated  youth who pretend to be educated,  who prove their worth by smelling the dirty socks of worthless entertainers.  our society is full of greedy adults whose eyes are fixed on top national ranks. our society is full of corrupt jounalists who chant the names of those in power and position.  

In such a society literature is on the last legs.  my stuggle is to put it in ICU but  people want to  throw it in garbage bin.  people  here want sensational news. a woman's nudity , a celebrity's insanity ,  marriage, divorce, affairs anything completely unnecessary to called sensational. 

Rk Narayan name is buzzing  because he is the author who was born in a middle class family a vulnerable teacher's son but rose to fame recieved highest national honours ( received Sahitya Akademi award) political position  ( appointed to Rajyasabha) received international eccolades. ( New York )  He satisfied all groups of people of our degraded society.  He has satisfied even the last parameter of sensational news that is poor man turning to riches. 

Thus by being sensational he removed the shame of the untouchables  ( authors and writers and poets can lift their heads)

Endless vibrations

On Sunday the 3rd December 2023, I have received Abdulkalam Excellency award  in the function orginised by X ray a 30 year old renowned cultural orgination of Andhrapradesh. The other recepients have come from far away places like Rajahmundry, Bobbili and Hyderabad. They are all very generous people from different fields - a doctor , a cine actor and a social worker. 

Mr. Raju from Bobbili contributes all his salary to the poor and lives on his wife's salary. Mrs. Usha from postal department feeds 10 orphan children. I contributed free service to private educational institutions and road repairs but it is much less. 

I can not even dream of such an award.  I have received several awards from the Government as well as academies and cultural associations. Awards are not new to me.  I have achieved two word records too. But Abdul Kalam Excellency Award is something different because he is the real hero I loved, admired and remembered everyday. In the first chapter of my world record winning Novel Bharatavarsha I wrote a poem on him depcting his personality and achievements. Thus I connected him to my Magnum Opus. 

Abdulkalam Excellency Award  connected him to my life. It gave me a sense of fulfilment elevated my mind to a different level of social commitment. The name of the great hero of India sends endless vibrations in my heart.

The evening has a great pull

 The auditorium was full 

 of people with bright faces 

  who came from far places

The stage is gaudy and well lit

The time is pleasant and all set 

to give away the prestegious award

to men of service they will accord

Here is adoctor, there is an actor 

There is a writer and a social worker

all withered in the service of humanity

The awardees sat without trace of vanity

They were awarded the hero of the nation

His name itself is endless vibration
