IISL has been formed with the objective of providing a variety of indices and index related services and products for the capital markets. a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE)  based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. India Index Services & Products Ltd. operates as a subsidiary of NSE Strategic Investment Corporation Limited. The company maintains over 100 equity indices comprising broad-based benchmark indices, sectoral indices and customized indices

The Nifty 50 was launched 1st April 1996, and is one of the many stock indices of Nifty. Nifty is owned and managed by India Index Services and Products (IISL), The NIFTY 50 covers 12 sectors such as NIFTY Bank, NIFTY IT, NIFTY Pharma, NIFTY SERV SECTOR, NIFTY  of the Indian economy and offers investment managers exposure to the Indian market in one portfolio.

The base value of the index has been set at 1000 and a base capital of Rs 2.06 trillion.

1997       Investors deserted  Asian shares during the Asian Financial Crisis.

2008       market fell due to the US Subprime Mortgage Crisis.

2013       market fell due to depreciation of the Indian Rupee.

2015       market fell driven by the meltdown in the Chinese Stock market.

SENSEX was introduced in 1986 

The term Sensex was coined by Deepak Mohoni, a stock market analyst. It is a portmanteau of the words Sensitive and Index.  (Deepak Mohoni is a graduate from IIT Kanpur and did his MBA from IIM Calcutta. He studied at the Scindia School Gwalior. He is a regular columnist in The Economic Times and Business World writing about technical analysis. He appears regularly on CNBC-TV18. He has also appeared on BBC, Star TV, Doordarshan, and Reuters TV.)

BSE was established in 1875. 

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is Asia's first exchange and the largest securities market in India

BSE SENSEX or  Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index is a free-float market-Published since 1 January 1986 is regarded as the pulse of the domestic stock markets in India.  30 well-established and financially sound companies listed on Bombay Stock Exchange. The 30 component companies which are some of the largest and most actively traded stocks, are representative of various industrial sectors of the Indian economy.  it reflects current market conditions. The index is calculated based on a free float capitalisation method, a variation of the market capitalisation method.

On 22 May 2006, the SENSEX plunged by 1,100 points during intra-day trading, leading to the suspension of trading for the first time since 17 May 2004. The volatility of the SENSEX had caused investors to lose Rs 6 trillion (US$131 billion) within seven trading sessions. The then Finance Minister of India, P. Chidambaram, made an unscheduled press statement when trading was suspended to assure investors that nothing was wrong with the fundamentals of the economy, and advised retail investors to stay invested.

BSE SENSEX fell by 615 points in a single day on 1 August 2007 and in 2008 due to the subprime crisis in the U.S. lost 833.98 points 

The American Civil War

The American Revolution short summary

The Britain started a series of 13 colonies (Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and South Carolina) with different founding dates in the United States. Virginia was the oldest among them. It was colonized in 1607. Britain declared independence to Rhode Island first. In 1776 the British declared independene to Virginia but really didn't achieve it until 1783. The British rule lasted for 170 years in America.

The American Revolution was a colonial revolt that took place between 1765 and 1783. The American Patriots in the Thirteen Colonies won independence from Great Britain, becoming the United States of America. They defeated the British in the American Revolutionary War in alliance with France and others.

In the 1760 s the British passed new laws that made colonists pay taxes on sugar, tea, and other things. ... The American Revolution began. Colonists wanted independence from Britain. The Revolutionary War began with the confrontation between British troops and local militia at Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts, on 19 April 1775. The conflict lasted a total of seven years, with the major American victory at Yorktown in 1781 marking the end of hostilities.

The Treaty of Paris, signed in Paris by representatives of King George III of Great Britain and representatives of the United States of America on September 3, 1783, ended the American Revolutionary War.

British ministers, and the king, rebuffed the Americans, and started to treat them as open enemies, making many of the colonists think that independence was the only option. 

The  revolution presented the Americans as staunch defenders of liberty and the British as a threat to that liberty. But for enslaved people in the colonies, it was the British who represented liberty, not the white Americans. 

The British nearly won the war in 1776. By mid-December, many British officers assumed that the rebellion was on the verge of collapse. But just after Christmas, Washington boldly counter-attacked, reviving American spirits and ensuring that the war continued. Contemporaries blamed General Howe, the British commander, for not seizing the opportunity to crush the rebellion when he had the chance.

A significant number of white Americans remained loyal to the British crown. somewhere around a fifth of white colonists refused to accept a complete break with Britain. Some of these loyalists took up arms on the British side, and many of them migrated to Canada at the end of the war. The French government helped the American rebels almost from the beginning of the war. The rebels first received French arms and ammunition; these vital supplies were followed by large injections of cash, which continued throughout the war.

When the French formally intervened in 1778, the struggle became a global war. The Spanish and Dutch joined the war in 1779 and 1780. The French and Spanish fleets combined outgunned the Royal Navy.

In the summer of 1779, a Franco-Spanish armada controlled the Channel. At the end of 1780, the Dutch joined the conflict, too. While they posed little threat to the British on their own, their involvement extended the geographical range of the war even further. General Cornwallis’s British army was trapped by American and French troops and cut off from relief by the French navy. Cornwallis’s surrender effectively ended the war in America.

I am ebullient toute la journée:I am on cloud nine the entire day.

 because presenting foreign language speakers is huge task. Usually it requires great dealing of  wooing and craving and encouraging the student. Every time it was not only hard but also cumbersome (unwieldy.) task. but this time all the students including Mrs. Ewa is very kind. I just informed them about the program just an hour before and they all moved to the studio. How kind are the students and how lucky I am! 

The kindest of all is the head of " Hitam School - Pamarru." Mr. Hemanth who stole time and brought three girl students from such a distance engaging a car.   I rarely taught them French. Their classes can be counted on fingers.  The performance of girls ( French students) is splendid because of teacher student relation.

The Chief attraction of the program: is the creative personality with romantic talent Mr. Bharath kumar, CEO Lunar Technologies, who unveiled  his imaginative capability his scientific, action adventure filmy idea. Want to learn Chinese ?

Here is Inspiration, Motivation and Education.

Chinese is one of the most happening languages. Some people think Chinese is a difficult language. You will not feel that Chinese is  difficult any more once you meet Mr. Chandu. If you want to learn Chinese language there is no better source than Mr.Chandu to the best of my knowledge.  

I met Mr. Chandu, MA Chinese student in JNU - Delhi. He is a campus student who has been living in Jhelum hostel for 4 years now. He has finished his B.A Chinese under the tutelage of Dr. Priyadarshi Mukharjee a noted scholar and polyglot. I am a polyglot myself I can speak 6 languages. 

I know very well what it takes to learn a foreign language. Learning a foreign language takes all your time and all your thinking. Neither money nor well designed courses can work for you like your personal qualities such as devotion, determination and belief. Mr. Chandu possessed all the personal qualities that are required to learn a foreign language. Of all the qualities I would appreciate his courage in selecting Chinese language.

M.A Chinese student on JNU Delhi read my blogs on the internet and called me up. He introduced him as Chandu, Chinese student on JNU Delhi. (I was also a past Chinese student who dropped it for Japanese.) I asked him to speak in Chinese. I was surprised to hear fluent and soft Chinese like voice from this Visakha boy. I decided to meet him personally. Thus I went to Delhi to  meet him.  I reached Delhi from Vijayawada. He invited me for lunch but I decided to spend time only on speaking not on eating. I finished lunch outside and reached JNU with my wife by auto and met him at 3.00 pm on Sunday the 2nd December 2018. He came to the North gate of the University and received us. 

I was taken in by his courtesy and politeness. His manners are delightful and awesome. My wife and I felt that the way he received us looked more like a son receiving his parents than a stranger. Every moment, in every movement we both saw and felt something different in him we can not find in students of modern generation. What a great contrast. The same JNU which has produced students like Kanhaiya kumar, Khalid umar aslo produced students like Chandu. I had very low opinion on JNU. His attitude has changed it for ever after he took me to his hostel.

What qualities you need to learn a foreign language?

I have been in teaching for 25 years and Foreign languages teaching for 10 years. Many students want to buy a foreign language, they behave like customers not like students. It is a hell to talk to them on phone. They should understand that without personal qualities in you ( like love of language, respect for the teacher, self confidence and self awareness)  you can not learn a foreign language. Above all devotion is prerequisite to learn a foreign language.

Mr. Chandu's parents live in Anakapalli near Visakhapatnam, but he never visited his parents during the 3 year BA Chinese Course. He has visited China and Taiwan and has already received job offers. He has the desire to serve learners of Chinese language. You may approach him for Chinese language. The proverb says face is the index of mind but I say that personal qualities are index of future. I wish Mr. Chandu a bright future.  

Shepherd girl who became France Education Minister

Once a shepherd girl - who tended goats and fetched water from the well - Najat moved to France and faced the real world full of opportunities as well as struggles. The Moroccan girl who had no proficiency in French. Her father who laid strict rules for his daughters - no boys and no nightclubs till the age of 18. As a result, the girls surrendered completely, themselves to studies

Najat got the opportunity to pursue higher education with the prestigious Institut d’études politiques . This set her on the path winding the political landscape in France. Najat worked two jobs to take the financial load off her parents while pursuing her Master's in Public Administration.

Najat's political career began with her joining the Socialist Party as an adviser to the mayor of Lyon. She later ran for elections and won the seat of the Councillor. She served as the Minister of Women’s Rights, Minister of City Affairs, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.  In 2012, she was appointed as the Minister of Women’s Affairs by François Hollande, the then Socialist president. She became the official spokesperson in Hollande government.

The nasty response of French Muslims.

No one likes if you want to do good. That is what exactly happened when she Najat started her work in the most important position. When Najat became minister for women's rights in Hollande's cabinet, French Muslims had high hopes – sadly they have been disappointed when she voiced against burqa and supported burqa ban when sarkozy introduced it. (When President Hollande refused to overturn the "burqa ban" he was commented as awkward and insensitive.) She not only articulated her country's most pressing contemporary problems, she took the bold first step to solving them. When she pledged to "see prostitution disappear" working girls in Paris have accused her of trying to drive a relatively well regulated industry underground. Several protest marches and demonstrations were carried out. Muslim in France saw her as a threat to their beliefs and life styles. Even the haters targeted her with sexiest comments. She was accused of wearing lipstick and there was a row on her black bra that a tiny portion of the bra lace is visible.

Everybody demands change but the moment you start changing they throw stones. Intrepid people like Najat are not deterred by stones. She has proved that if education can take you to France your determination and inner strength can make you education minister.

ప్రతి మూలలో పూణేలో కొత్త ఉత్సాహం ఉంది.  ప్రతి మలుపులోనూ ప్రశాంతత  ప్రజలలో   నెమ్మది , సంస్కృతిలో  సహజత్వం    రహదారులలో చల్లదనం  నిశ్శబ్దత చూస్తాము.  విజయవాడలో ఉన్న చెట్లతో పోలిస్తే పూణేలో 100 రెట్లు ఎక్కువ చెట్లున్నాయి.  రోడ్లకిరువైపులా ఎక్కడ పెడితే అక్కడ  పెద్ద చెట్లు విస్తరించి ఉంటాయి. విశాలమైన ఉద్యానవనాల తో పూణే   పెద్ద పార్కులో ఉన్న నగరంలా కనిపిస్తుంది. రహదారులు పై రద్దీ  తక్కువగా ఉండి  రోడ్లు  ఖాళీగా కనిపిస్తాయి.   

ఒకప్పుడు బెంగళూరు ఉద్యానవనం. ఇప్పుడు అది ఉద్యాన నగరం కాదు. ఈరోజు పూణే  ఉద్యాన నగరం. పూణే విజయవాడ కంటే ఐదు రెట్లు పెద్దది. విజయవాడ విస్తీర్ణం  61 కిలోమీటర్లు. పూణే విస్తీర్ణం   331 కిలోమీటర్లు. రోడ్లు మరియు బస్సులు చాలా అరుదుగా రద్దీగా ఉంటాయి. రోడ్డుమీద చల్లటి చెట్ల నీడలో నడవాలిపిస్తుంది.  పూణేలో రాజకీయ నాయకుల ఫ్లెక్స్ బేనర్లు కనిపించవు . మైకులు వినిపించవు.  పూణేలో వారం రోజుల బసలో  నేను చూసినవి  నాలుగు బేనర్లు మాత్రమే   అవి కూడా సామాజిక లేదా భక్తి కార్యక్రమం,  లేదా  ప్రారంభోత్సవ  ఆహ్వానం కోసం పెట్టినవే  విజయవాడలో  రాజకీయ నాయకుల ఫ్లెక్స్‌లు ప్రతి 10 అడుగులకు  దర్శనమిస్తాయి.  రోడ్డు డివైడర్ల మీద జంక్షన్ లలోట్రాఫిక్ సైన్ బోర్డులు కనిపించకుండా బేనర్లు కక్కుర్తిగా పెట్టే సంస్కృతి ఇక్కడ  తాండవిస్తోంది చెట్ల కొమ్మలపై  కాకులు కూడా వాలడానికి చోటులేకుండా ఫ్లెక్స్ బేనర్లు  కట్టేస్తారు. రాత్రి పగలు ఇసుక లారీలు తిప్పుతూ అక్రమ సంపాదన కోసం అర్రులు చాచే రాజకీయనాయకులు రోడ్లు ఛిద్రమైపోయినా పట్టించుకోని ప్రభుత్వాలు అడుగడుక్కీ చర్చిలు  అర్ధరాత్రి దాకా మైకులు. ఇది విజయవాడ పరిస్థితి.

ఇంక  విజయవాడలోని ప్రజల  విషయానికొస్తే   రాష్ట్రంలోని  రాజకీయ నాయకుల కంటే  ప్రజల జీవితాలు మరింత దుర్భరంగా దీనంగా  కనిపిస్తాయి . ఒక  కులంలో పుట్టడమే  చాలా గొప్ప అన్నట్టు  కార్లు మరియు బైక్‌లపై   కులం పేరు రాసుకుంటారు.  నేబర్ ప్లేట్ ల స్థానంలో  సినీ నటుడి  స్టిక్కర్లు  కనిపిస్తాయి.  వీళ్ళ మనస్తత్వాన్ని చూస్తే వికారంగా ఉంటుంది. పూణేలో   వందలాది  కార్లు, బైక్‌లను చూశాను ఆటల్లో ప్రయాణించాను . ఏ  ఆటోకి  సినీ హీరోల పోస్టర్లు లేవు.  కులం ట్యాగ్‌లు అసలే లేవు.  పూణేలో   ఆత్మగౌరవం ఉన్న వ్యక్తులు మనకు కనిపిస్తారు. సరదాగా పలకరిస్తారు. 

ప్రఖ్యాతి గాంచిన  పూణే  ఫిలాసఫికల్ సొసైటీ  కి వెళ్లి  అక్కడ  తత్వవేత్త  డా. టెండూల్కర్ గారిని కలిసి ముచ్చటించడం ఎంతో ఆసక్తి కలుగజేసింది . ఆతరువాత  వయసులో ఉన్న  ఆడపిల్లలను, స్త్రీల తో  మాట్లాడుతుంటే డా.టెండూల్కర్ గారితో మాట్లాడుతున్నట్టే అనిపించింది.  అంద చందాల ప్రదర్శన చేయకుండా ఉండడం  సౌమ్య  వ్యక్తిత్వం, మర్యాద ప్రవర్తన  చాలా  హాయిగా అనిపించింది. విమాన్ నగర్‌లో  నేను కలిసిన అమ్మాయిల లో  చాలా  విశాల దృక్పథం కనిపించింది. వారు 50ఏళ్ల ఆడవాళ్లలా నాతో మాట్లాడారు. జపనీస్ ఒకాయమా పార్కులో  టీనేజీ అమ్మాయిలు నిస్సంకోచంగా   మాతో ఫొటోలు దిగారు. ఆడపిల్లలు ఏమాత్రం వెనుకాడకుండా స్నేహభావం తో మెలిగేరు.   కోక్వెటిష్ ఎగ్జిబిషనిజం లేని  స్నేహశీలత  పూణేలోని అమ్మాయిలలో కనిపిస్తుంది. పూణే చూసి వస్తే  మనకి  మంచి సంస్కృతి  ప్రశాంతత అవసరం అనిపిస్తుంది.

Mr. Vaddikasulu - the man with matchless devotion

Mr. Vaddikasulu who is a student of matchless devotion. He has learnt German earlier and can speak fluently.  Look at the tattoo on his hand. A German tattoo on a Telugu boy's hand?!  The tattoo reads " Ich bin genug". What does it mean?  It is means "I am enough."  There is a moving story behind this tattoo of course.

Nevertheless German tattoo underscores his love of German language. It also shows that learning is the sole agenda of his life in sharp contrast with men of modern generation who are after luxuries. He works in a bank but has abnegated all comforts for the sake of learning. He lives in a hostel, goes to places on foot. ( although he can buy a car and house). My Japanese language advanced in his company. Although I was able to speak Japanese, the Japanese script remained inaccessible to me until two weeks ago. Today I am able to listen to Japanese and answer the questions written in Japanese script. It is ideal to write a blog about vaddikasulu and by all means it is worth reading.
