కంచర గాడిద - హాస్య నాటిక

 

అటు గాడిద కాదు ఇటు గుర్రం కాదు అటు ఇంగ్లిష్ కాదు, ఇటు తెగ్లీష్ కాదు. ఇది ఓకే ప్రత్యేకమైన భాష. చాలామంది తెలుగు వారు మాట్లాడే భాష. నమ్మలేకపోతున్నారా?  టీ వీ  చూడండి, లేదా మీచుట్టూ ఉన్న మనుషులను గమనించండి. బట్, ఇఫ్, బికాజ్ లాంటి ఇంగ్లిష్ పదాలను తెలుగు సంభాషణ లో వాడుతూ ఇంగ్లిష్ మాట్లాడుతున్నట్టు, ఇంగ్లిష్ కి అలవాటు పడి పోయినట్టు చూబిస్తూ ఉంటారు. వీళ్ళకి రాదని చెప్పను కాని సమంగా రాదనీ ఖచ్చితంగా చెప్పగలను. వీరి భాష చాలా చికాకుగా ఉంటుంది. కంపరం పుట్టించే ఈ భాష ప్రయోగం మీద సంధించిన వ్యంగ్యాస్త్రమే  ఈ కంచర గాడిద (నాటిక )

ఆవిడ ఇన్స్పిరేషన్ తోనే ఒక స్కిల్ ని స్టార్ట్ చేయాలనే థాట్ వచ్చింది నాకు.....

బికాజ్ ఒక ఫస్ట్ హౌస్ అవ్వచ్చు ఒక సెకెండ్ హౌస్ అవ్వచ్చు .....

అలా అంటారు కాని  వుమన్ ఎన్ని పనులు చేస్తున్నా మెన్ ఈక్వల్ గా అంత  పనులూ చేస్తుంటారు ..

నాటిక ప్రారంభం- అతిథి రాక 
మద్యానం సమయం లో వచ్చిన అతిథి తో పిల్లల సంభాషణ.

తేజ: ఎవరో డోర్  నాక్  చేస్తున్నారు, ఓపెన్ చెయ్యి.
శ్రుతి: నేను బిజి రా, నువ్వే ఒక్కసారి కొంచం స్ట్రెచ్ అయి జస్ట్ పుల్ చెయ్యరా. 

తేజ  తలుపు తీసి చూసి :  ఓ, అంకులా, డాడి కోసం వచ్చారా?
శ్రుతి: సిట్  చెయ్యండి అంకుల్. కాఫీ డ్రింక్ చేస్తారా? వాటర్ డ్రింక్ చేస్తారా?
తేజ: వెదర్ హాట్ గా ఉందికదా, కూల్ డ్రింక్ ఐతే బెటర్.
అంకుల్: జస్ట్ కూల్ వాటర్ చాలు బేబి. మీ డాడితో టాక్ చేద్దామని వచ్చాను.
తేజ: ఇంకా ఆఫీసు నుంచి రిటర్న్ కాలేదు. మమ్మీ ఉంది కాల్ చెయ్యమంటారా ?
శ్రుతి: కాల్ చేయ్యడ మేమిటి రా? కాల్ చెయ్యడమంటే ఫోను చెయ్యడము కదా?
తేజ: అబ్బ నీకేంతెలీదు. మా స్కూల్  లో ఇలాగే మాట్లాడతారు.
అంకుల్: మమ్మీ ని డిస్టర్బ్ చేయ్యకండి. వర్క్  చేసి బాగా  టయర్ ఐపోయి ఉంటారు.

స్లీప్ చేస్తున్నారు.  నెక్ స్ట్ టైం  కాల్ చేసి వస్తాను. (అంకుల్ వెళ్ళిపోతాడు) 

బై అంకుల్  తలుపు చప్పుడు అవుతుంది. విరామ సంగీతం.

సాయంకాలం ఇంటికి వచ్చిన తండ్రితో పిల్లల సంభాషణ....

తండ్రి: సన్నీ, బన్ని డోర్ నాక్ చేస్తుంటే మైండ్ చేయరేంటి?

సారీ డాడి TV వాచ్ చేస్తున్నాము.

తండ్రి:  అమ్మ ఏది?
పిల్లలు : ఢిల్లీ పిన్ని  అమ్మ  వంట గది లో ఉన్నారు.

మామ్: మా వాళ్ళు ఇంగ్లిష్ అదరగొట్టేస్తారు. చూసావు గా మమ్మీ డాడీ అని ఎంత  చక్కగా పిలుస్తున్నారో      డీల్లీ లో కూడా ఇలాంటి ఇంగ్లిష్ విని ఉండవు. (ఢిల్లీ నుంచి వచ్చిన చెల్లితో)

కొత్తగా వచ్చే వని నీతో ఎక్కువ మాట్లాడలేదు కానీ మా వాళ్ళు ఇంగ్లిష్ దంచేస్తారు

ఏవండీ టీ తాగుతారా?  ఒక్క నిమిషం పంపిస్తాను

డాడీ : హోమ వర్క్ ఫినిష్ చేసారా?  

శృతి:  లేదు డాడీ
డాడీ :  హోమ్ వర్క్ ఫినిష్ చెయ్యకుండా టీవీ వాచ్ చేయద్దని ఎన్ని సార్లు చెప్పాను?

మామ్: ఎలా ఉంది మా వాళ్ళ ఇంగ్లిష్? 

అతిథి: వాళ్ళు తెలుగే కదా మాట్లాడుతున్నారు
శృతి: ఓకే డాడీ. నాకు నోట్ బుక్ పర్చేస్ చేసారా?
శృతి: మన రత్నం గారి షాప్ క్లోస్ చేసేసి ఉండండి అమ్మా. టుమారో షూర్గా తెస్తాను.
శృతి: ఓకే డాడి ఫర్గెట్ చేయకండి.

అతిథి: ఫర్గెట్  చేయకండా? బుర్ర తిరుతుతుండడంతో  బుర్ర  విదిలిస్తుంది 

(వీళ్ళ ఇంగ్లిష్ వింటుంటే నాకు పిచ్చి పట్టేట్టుంది, మనసులో)

మామ్: ఇప్పటికి అర్ధం అయినట్టుంది మనసులో)

మామ్: చూసేవా మా వాళ్ళు ఇంగ్లిష్ అదర గొట్టేస్తారని చెప్పానా
డాడీ: సర్టిన్లీ తల్లీ , గో గో  రీడ్ చేస్కో నాన్న.
శృతి: డాడీ హోంవర్క్ చేయాలి, హెల్ప్ చేయి డాడి.
దాడి: నేను బాగా టయర్ ఐపోయాను, రిలాక్స్ కావద్దూ?
శృతి: ఈ హోమ్ వర్క్ చాలా ఇంపార్టెంట్ , మస్ట్ గా చేయాలిఅని మా టీచర్ చెప్పింది.లేకపోతె బీట్ చేస్తుంది.
డాడీ: ఆ! చిల్రన్ ని బీట్ చేయడమా? శృతి:అవును డాడీ నిజంగా బీట్ చేస్తుంది
డాడీ: చిల్రన్ ని బీట్ చేయడమా? చిల్రన్ ని బీట్ చేయకూడదమ్మా. నేను మీ టీచర్ తో టాక్ చేస్తాను.
శృతి:వద్దు డాడీ టాక్ చేయద్దు డాడీ . హెల్ప్ చేయమంటే టాక్ చేస్తానంటా వేంటి  డాడీ ?
మమ్మీ : శృతి, డాడీ ని అండర్ స్టేండ్ చేసుకోవాలమ్మా ! తెజచూడు ఎప్పుడు సెల్ఫ్  గా  చేసుకుంటాడు.
కాస్సేపు రెస్ట్ తీసుకున్నాక నీ ప్రాబ్లం సాల్వ్ చేస్తారులే.
శృతి: మీకు హాట్ వాటర్ రెడీ అయ్యింది. బాత్ చెయ్యండి.
డాడి :ఓకే నాన్నా నువ్వు కాస్సేపు ప్లే చేస్కో ఈలోగా నేను బాత్ చేసి వస్తాను . శృతి:అలాగే డాడీ

తండ్రి స్త్నానం చేసి వచ్చిన  తరువాత......
తండ్రి టీ వీ  చూస్తుంటాడు శృతి బోజనానికి రమ్మని తండ్రి పిలుస్తుంది.
శృతి: డాడీ, మమ్మీ కుక్కింగ్ ఫినిష్ చేసింది
డాడీ:  ఓకే
మమ్మీ: శృతి, తేజ, హాండ్స్ వాష్ చేసుకోండి.
మేము చేసుకోమని పిల్లలు పేచి పెడతారు. ఇంతలో నాయనమ్మ వస్తుంది
నాయనమ్మ: పిల్లలూ చేతులు కడుక్కోకపోతే అనారోగ్యం. జబ్బులు వస్తాయి
(పిల్లలు నవ్వుతారు)
నాయనమ్మ: అల్లా నవ్వుతారేవిట్రా , వెర్రి మొహాలరా!
మమ్మీ: మీరు మాట్లాడేది వాళ్లకు ఏమీ అర్ధం కాలేదు అత్తయ్యగారు.
నాయనమ్మ:  తెలుగులోనే కదా  చెప్పాను, మరి ఎలా చెప్పాలి?
మమ్మీ: వాళ్లకి ఇంగ్లిష్లో చెప్పాలి
నాయనమ్మ: నాకు రాదే తల్లి ఆ ఇంగ్లిషు.

మమ్మీ: అదిగో, వాళ్ళ డాడీ వచ్చారు కదా , ఆయనే చెప్తారు.
డాడీ: ఏంటి తేజ, శృతి, హాండ్స్ వాష్ చేసుకోమంటు న్నారా? తప్పు కదా?
డిసీజెస్ వస్తాయి , సిక్ అయిపోతారమ్మా, గో , గో ...   పిల్లలు: ఓకే డాడీ
నాయనమ్మ: మావాళ్ళు ఇంగ్లిష్ ఎంత చక్కగా మాట్లాడతారో .

అక్క రేపు నేను బయలుదేరదామనుకుంటున్నాను.

అయ్యో అప్పుడేనా ? వచ్చి రెండురోజులు కాలేదు

 కొద్ది రోజుల తర్వాత ఆఫిస్ నుంచి వచ్చిన తండ్రితో.....

మమ్మీ: ఏవండీ కేక్ అడ్డర్ చేశారా?  

నాయనమ్మ: స్వీట్స్ బ్రాట్ చేసావా?

టుమారో ఫంక్షన్ కి పిల్లల విషయాలు ఎప్పుడూ ఫర్గెట్ చెయ్యడు (అతిథితో)

అతిథి: ఈవిడ కూడా మొదలెట్టేసింది(మనసులో)

మమ్మీ: పిల్లలూ ఈ స్వీట్స్  రేపటికి టచ్ చేయకండి. (పిల్లలు ఇప్పుడే తినాలి అని అల్లరి చేస్తారు)

వన్ టైం టెల్, టూ టైమ్స్ టెల్ నాట్ లిస్నింగ్ మీన్స్ బీటింగ్ ఓన్లీ.

అతిథి : అంటే ఏంటక్కా? 

నాయనమ్మ:  పిచ్చిపిల్ల నీకు వాళ్ళ ఇంగ్లిష్ విని షాక్ తగిలినట్లుంది.

అతిథి : షాక్ కాదు పిచ్చిపట్టేటట్లుంది. 

నాయనమ్మ:   మొదట్లో నాకు అంతే. నీకు త్వరలోనే వచ్చేస్తుందిలే.

అతిధి : నాకొద్దు బాబోయ్ ఈ ఇంగ్లిష్ ... సూటుకేసి పట్టుకుని పరుగు.

డాడీ: అందరూ ఇంగ్లిష్ నేర్చుకోవాలని చూస్తారు నువ్వెంటమ్మ..

I was more in student mode when I began my career as a trainer  and visiting professor. I worked for nearly 50 colleges in North and South India. I recall my rewarding experiences of my peripatetic life as trainer.

Voice-over, a profession par excellence

I never thought that I would become a voice over. But I became one but not by chance. I became a voice over by dint of hard work. A hard work that had lasted for a decade before I saw my CDs on stalls. I remember those days( my initial days of practice) very clearly where any people made a fine point at me. " You are practicing English pronunciation! What a fun!!"

Nobody encouraged, every dissuaded and laughed at my English pronunciation practice. Not  only did my brother laughed at my practice but also he mocked at my goal of becoming a good English voice over. but that did not batter my confidence. I swerved not from my objective.

The result is amazing. After a decade I was in several recording deals for my good pronunciation and accent. The people who laughed at me ate a humble pie. Those who said what a fun!! ate their words. I seized several chances to speak on All India Radio. I was appreciated for my news recording in neutral accent although many people liked my american accent. I received many positive comments about my voice  in FB.  This is one of the comments I have received from a facebook member when I uploaded the following video.

The above Facebook message is in Telugu. In English it means he watched my video and thought that it was some English man's voice. He also said that it was really super. I worked for AIR, Schools, Colleges, private and government organizations but the educational CDs gave me immense satisfaction. I liked several voices in the internet and television. Here is one of the voices I liked.

I have high regard for the profession of a voice-over and I still admire it although I became a foreign languages trainer by profession. I believe that voice over is a profession par excellence. పోలీగ్లాట్ జీవితం ఎలా ఉంటుంది ?

ఫ్రెంచ్ మరియు జర్మన్ క్లాసిక్ సాహిత్యంపై జాతీయ స్థాయి సెమినార్ 2012లో ఎర్నాకులంలో సెప్టెంబర్ 14 మరియు 15 తేదీలలో జరిగింది.

ఫ్రెంచ్ మరియు జర్మన్ క్లాసిక్ లిటరేచర్ గురించి మాట్లాడేందుకు నన్ను ఎర్నాకులం ఆహ్వానించారు. నేను కేరళలోని అలువాలో జరిగిన జాతీయ స్థాయి సెమినార్ లో రిసోర్స్ పర్సన్‌గా పాల్గొన్నాను.

జాతీయ స్థాయి సెమినార్‌లో మాట్లాడేందుకు నాకు ఆహ్వానం అందిన తర్వాత నేను ఒక నెలపాటు బోధనను నిలిపివేసి, ( సంపాదన ఆపేసి ) ఫ్రెంచ్ మరియు జర్మన్ భాషలలోని క్లాసిక్ సాహిత్యాన్ని అధ్యయనం చేయడానికి పూర్తిగా అంకితమయ్యాను.

ఒక గదికి పరిమితమై, కాలం మరిచి

ఫ్రెంచ్ క్లాసిక్ లిటిరేచర్ నుంచి లె మిజరబుల్స్, ది లిటిల్ ప్రిన్స్, ది స్ట్రేంజర్, ది త్రీ మస్కటీర్స్ వంటి క్లాసిక్‌లతో పాటు ఇతర పుస్తకాలను ఎంచుకున్నాను. సాహిత్యానికి నోబుల్ బహుమతిని గెలుచుకున్న కొన్ని జర్మన్ పుస్తకాలను ఎంచుకున్నాను. జర్మన్ భాష నుండి నేను ది సారోస్ ఆఫ్ యంగ్ వెర్థర్, డెత్ ఇన్ వెనిస్ థామస్ మాన్, హర్మన్ హెస్స రాసిన సిద్ధార్థ మరియు హెర్తా ముల్లర్ రచించిన అటెమ్స్‌ షోకెల్ వంటి నోబెల్ బహుమతి పొందిన పుస్తకాలను ఎంచుకున్నాను. ఎప్పుడైనా అద్దం లో చూసుకుంటే పిచ్చి జుట్టు గెడ్డంతో మరో వ్యక్తి ఎవరో అనిపించేది.

ఎందుకొచ్చినది ఈ అవస్థ అని, ఎంత సంపాదించేస్తావు అని కొంత మంది ఎద్దేవా చేశారు ? మాట్లాడినందుకు గంటకు ఇచ్చేది గంటకు ఐదు వేలు నువ్వు కోల్పోయేది ఒక నెల్లాళ్ళ సంపాదన. అని లెక్కలు వేసి బుద్ధి చెప్పిన వాళ్ళు కూడా ఉన్నారు.

కానీ అనుకున్నది సాధించాను. విదేశీ రిపోర్టర్స్ ముందు వారి భాషలో క్లాసిక్ లిటిరేచర్ పై మాట్లాడి వారి అభినందనలు అందుకోడమే కాకుండా ఫ్రెంచ్ కోర్స్కు డైరెక్టర్ గా నియమించబడ్డాను. నాకే కాక నాభార్య కు కూడా టికెట్స్ పంపారు యూనివర్సిటీ వారు. మంచి హోటల్ లో బస కి ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. ఊరంతా తిప్పి చూపారు. ఆ తరువాత అనేక కంపెనీలకు, ప్రభుత్వానికి కూడా ఫ్రెంచ్ అనువాదకుడిగా ఆహ్వానాలు అందుకున్నాను.

  

పాలీగ్లాట్ అని పిలవడానికి కనీసం ఒక వ్యక్తి మూడు భాషలు మాట్లాడాలి.

చాలా మందికి ఫారిన్ లాంగ్వేజ్ నేర్చుకోవాలనే కోరిక ఉంటుంది. కొంతమంది ఆర్థిక కారణాల వల్ల ప్రారంభించలేరు. కొందరు వ్యక్తులు ప్రారంభిస్తారు కానీ ఆత్మవిశ్వాసం కొరవడి, మరికొందరు కష్టపడలేక , ఇంకొందరు ఇతర జీవిత సమస్యలు చుట్టముట్టడం వల్ల ఆపేస్తారు. నేర్చుకోడం ప్రారంభించినవారిలో 5 నుంచి 10 శాతం విదేశీ భాషను నేర్చుకోగలుగుతారు. అన్నిటికంటే ముఖ్యంగా నేర్చుకోవడానికి జీవితసమస్యలని పక్కకునెట్టి ప్రాక్టీస్ చేయడానికి ప్రతిక్షణం అంకితం ఆయే శక్తి కావాలి.

1. స్ఫూర్తి అనివార్యం

మీకు ఒక రోల్ మోడల్ కూడా కావాలి రోల్ మోడల్ గొప్ప బలం. మాజీ ప్రధాని పీవీ నరసింహారావు మీకు తెలుసు. ఆయనే నాకు స్ఫూర్తి. ప్రధానమంత్రిగా చాలా బిజీగా ఉన్నప్పుడు కూడా ఆయన సాహిత్యాభిమానాన్ని పక్కన పెట్టలేదు. అతను వేయిపడగలు (తెలుగు)ని హిందీలోకి "సహస్త్ర ఫన్"గా అనువదించాడు,

2. పెద్ద గ్రంధం చదివితే అదే చెప్పలేని బలం ఆత్మ విశ్వాసం

నేను చదివిన అతిపెద్ద గ్రంధం వేయిపడగలు అప్పటివరకు 300 నుంచి 400 పేజీల నవలలు మాత్రమే చదివే వాడిని. అంతకన్నా పెద్దపుస్తకాన్ని ముట్టేవాడినికాదు. అది చదివిన తరువాత నా మీద పఠనా శక్తి మీద నమ్మకం పెరిగింది .

3. నేను అదే యేయి పడగలను ఫ్రెంచ్‌లోకి అనువదించాను( కానీ కొన్ని కారణాలవల్ల ముద్రించలేకపోయాను.) అనువాదం కోసం ఆ కథనంతా మూడు సార్లు చదివాను. రివ్యూ వ్రాయడం కూడా అందులో భాగమే.

4. రచనలు జ్ఞానాన్ని పెంచుతాయి

నా ప్రయాణంలో మైలురాళ్లు నా పుస్తకాలు. పుస్తక రచన జ్ఞానాన్ని పది రెట్లు చేస్తుంది. పుస్తకాన్ని రాస్తున్నామంటే నేర్చుకోడానికి మనకి మనం అవకాశం ఇచ్చు కున్నట్టే , దారి చేసుకున్నట్టే. నేను బోధించే అన్ని విదేశీ భాషలపై కనీసం 4 పుస్తకాలు వ్రాసాను.

పోలీ గ్లాట్ అనేది డిగ్రీ కాదు ప్రతిభ. అది నిరాంతక సాధనతో నే సాధ్యం

Now I am able to speak 6 foreign languages; French, German, Spanish, Italian and Japanese.  I have started a Foreign languages Institute in Vijayawada to teach foreign languages to interested learners.      I never had anybody to guide me in those days.   I fought all by myself  but today you can access  foreign languages  more easily . All you need is passion guidance and training are readily available.

Bhutan - A mysterious land

An Indian Geologist Mr. Vara Prasad who visited Bhutan to survey  and to study the environment  as a part of construction of ACC cement factory  shared his Bhutan experiences with Venkat poolabala.

Here is the story in brief. Bhutan is a remote and mysterious region for many people.  Those who see from remote countries only hills there. They might call this land locked country.  Being close to Bhutan  Indians should not  miss this opportunity of visiting  this exotic area with its unique culture, rich history and very friendly people. This is a rare opportunity not to be missed! Bhutan is a country without noise.  Bhutan has wonderful culture and calmness.  When Hyderabad population was 14 lakhs the population of Bhutan was 7 lakhs.  Slowness and peace are the two rivers that flow through the lives of Bhutanese.  You can make the most of you visit.  Bhutanese were quite traditional. Television was banned( now allowed) not many newspapers  but Schools and colleges are plenty in Bhutan. Bhutan also hires Indian teachers. Mr. Vara Prasad met a few Indian teachers in samdrup jonkar.  Samdrup Jongkhar is located in Bhutan - about 208 km East of Thimphu, the Bhutanese capital.  The unexplored terrain certainly deserves the attention of nature lovers as well as tourists.   From Gauhati Sandrup jonkar 65km by train. It is the district Head quarters full of flora and fauna.

Yes  it is the policy of Bhutan government to maintain forest land and nature.  Sixty  percent of the country should be forest.  Sounds great!! Doesn’t it?  The land of the thunder dragon kingdom is a travelers paradise and an environmentalist’s dream. With 72 percent of the country under forest cover. The men and women of Bhutan have their traditional dresses. They should wear them. It is mandatory. We can see the ascending  roads  pass through a variety of vegetation zones in the Himalayan foothills. Looking back we get a distant view of the Indian plains. The roads are so high that we may be above the clouds! The roadside is rich in plants including ferns, rhododendrons and primulas. Women wear traditional dresses.  

Among many things of decent attraction, the culture is the biggest attraction.  If you visit Bhutan it gives you a chance to see how Bhutan has managed to hold on to its cultural traditions.  Bhutanese are Buddhists.  Mahayana Buddhism provides the essence of a unique identity for the 700,000 people of Bhutan. They don’t crave for western culture like Indians.  Their ability to respect their culture is remarkable it is reflected in retaining their culture. Archery is their national sport not cricket. India and Indians must learn from Bhutan.

Crazy out door shootings and Accidents

The Boy was disappointed. I said, "NO disappointments only appointments".  So the result is "location change" We moved to another CD store. The conversation was recorded successfully.  But in that same music store I got the chance of meeting Mr. G.S Rao the head of Career Campus. It is really a memorable day. He took some snaps of in the music store.   This is a still( photo) from the French conversation. I never imagined that this meeting would lead to learning Italian language.   I was thinking of learning Turkish or portugese but I was drawn into Italian. Meeting him is merely an accident. but sometimes accidents leave behind not only wounds but also sweet memories. My Italian learning was an accident. but I am absorbed by sweetness of Italian which also sustains my interest till today. 

Of late I have jumped off the wall of EFL Eazy Foreign Languages and started shooting small conversations in French and German in different locations of the city. You know that the ambiance plays a vital role in making the videos more effective. EFL has a small studio of its own with limited facilities.  Out-door shootings are fun but it requires mobilization of actors. Permissions and incidental expenses and safety of the child actors make it tough but there are thrills in out-door shooting. Sometimes outdoor shooting can be very disappointing as well. Recently I planned a French conversation with one of my French students Manoj. It is about buying a French CD.

When Our home studio ( shooting at home) is not suitable for the conversation  I go out with the students to out-door locations such as apartments, friends’ offices, parks. I always had permission to shoot in advance. In rare cases I sought permission a few minutes in advance. However well planned or ill planned there is always a possibility of a fiasco. This time It is a French Conversation. We planned it in a local CD shop at Benz circle. It is a posh looking music store with nice decor. We (My actor student Manoj and I.) reached there. When we were ready to shoot the permission was denied. That was the disappointment for the boy. I commandeered a smile in a situation that seems to be a tragedy.

Later we had many out-door shootings with countless number of children in places such as Radio stations which finally culminated in shooting videos in Andhrapradesh state cultural centre situated in Malakshmi towers in Vijayawada with the patronage of Dr. Emani sivanagireddy who is The CEO of Amaravathi Cultural Centre.  He is aficionado of arts and French language. He also Introduced me to the director  Mr. Bhaskar rao. My Italian  is merely an accident
