French workshop@ Karnoolu

What can French give U? A good job good money, lot of confidence!

Trust me when you learn French high paid jobs are waiting. Only thing you have to do is to learn French. Any foreign language has good opportunities for that matter. Can't you learn French to reach your goal?
Learning French at Vijayawada is the fastest and the easiest.

I have finished my visit to Nandi Academy Nandyal and returned home a week ago. I was in Nandyal on 11th, 12th and 13th of June.  It was  a three day work-shop on French and other foreign languages. These days I am so busy that I haven't got sufficient time to eat or sleep. That is why I am writing this post a week after I have returned from Nandyal. I am obsessed with the French.   It is a calling that has been continuing in my life. Learning French has several personal and academic benefits I want to pass on those benefits to the students, particularly the young ones. I visited several schools introducing French language.  Recently Vijaya college of Management studies for girls in Vijayawada has  opened its gates for a foreign languages seminar but such colleges are rare. it was only a one hour session.

Nandi Academy - Nandyal is a famous International school that has invited me for a three day work shop on foreign languages in the school. I remembered the schools I visited on my French Mission.  Jhansi school in Darsi  second farthest school from Vijayawada  that can be juxtaposed with Nandi academy. After my visit to Darsi village in Prakasam District this visit to Nandyal is the farthest trip on my mission to spread French.

I reached Nandyal on the wee hours of 11th June and was received by Mr. Valli, the driver. he drove me to went the residence of the Principal. I got refreshed in a few minutes. Later that day I was given the guest house.

This is the guest house where I stayed

The management of Nandi School gave me a duplex house for my stay.  They deserves accolades for treating a resource person with such kindness. the cleanliness of the place attracted me so much. I wandered in the colony in the evening and took many snaps of the plants and streets. They streets are as clean as the interiors of the guest house as you see in the picture below.

The school is green with plants and trees. The campus is very huge.  Smt. Padma kala is has taken good care  in arranging everything including the best accommodation and food. The work shop really went on well. The students of this school will certainly get a name foreign languages for themselves and the school in the near future

The guest house where I stayed is in the proximity  of this apartment where the Principal Smt. Padma kala lives. I have taken this picture and keep it my blog as a fond memory but I have kept her picture in my heart which will never fade out in course of time.

French learning Zeal

A stunning perseverance  for French learning.

I visited Nandi Academy in Nandyal on the invitation of its Principal Smt. Padmakala for a three day workshop on French and other Foreign languages to the students.

I stayed in Nandyal for three days 11th, 12th and 13th. I stayed there in a guest house provided by the school.

This blog post is dedicated to Richards and to his ultimate French learning spirit.

Mr. Richards met me on the first day after reading in the newspaper about the seminar. He wanted to learn French. He said it was a his interest.

The first day
when Richards met me I was speaking with the Principal.  Richards was waiting outside the Principal's room.  I finished speaking with the Principal. She asked me to visit the school assembly. She asked Richards to wait. I moved on with her.  After the assembly I went to visit the school campus. It was a big school so it took long time. I thought Richards would go away. who will wait so long? but Richards waited for 3 hours to talk to me. Then I understood his quality. I took him to my guest house. There our journey of friendship began.

The second day too Richards paid at most attention and to learning and great respect for me. It is the admiration he has for French. He was in a mood to pay the fees but I was not in a mood to take fees.  Richards belongs to a different class of individuals who admire learning. Unlike many students who simply can not connect to learning respect teaching he devoted himself to the teacher.

That night he took me to his father and and on my request introduced me to few other friends who are sophisticated in real sense. They are excellent in singing , writing or learning. they are rich in art. A young boy sang in Spanish. Richards father writes lyrics. They are sung by eminent singer. I forgot myself while listening to them. He is a social poet and his poesy is ecstasy. His brother is a virtuoso guitarist. He played the guitar for a while but the rhythms and tunes are still fresh in my mind.  we had dinner out side in a hotel. I reached home at 11.00 pm.

The third day After the assembly the Work shop on French and German started. The work shop continued until 3.00 pm. Richards was with me all the time until three. After lunch I went to the Guest house rested for a while and returned to the school at 4.30. The teachers were waiting for a Special class on English phonetics. The class was in Audio Visual room. I used projector and present phonetics and dictionary pronunciation. The teachers found it interesting. Richards was also present in the A.V room. Richards  shadowed me like true disciple , he has both respect for the Guru and quest for the knowledge. The principal Smt. Padmakala called both of us Ramakrishna and Vivekananda. Mr. Richards went home but came back at 8.30 to drop me at the bus stand. I got into the 10.00 pm bus. Richards waited until the bus moved and waved at me and vanished into the night's darkness. My hear cried " Oh! Richards"  What a lady! What a Man!

RICHARDS STEAD FAST ADHERENCE TO LEARNING FRENCH IS AMAZING. HE NEVER LEFT MY COMPANY EVEN FOR A MOMENT DURING MY THREE DAY STAY IN NANDI ACADEMY. IT HAS WON A TITLE FOR BOTH OF US.

French German Work Shop - Poolabala

The gates of Nandi Academy flung open for a three day work shop on French and Foreign languages. IT IS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE AT NANDYAL. The children of the school are exposed to seven foreign languages. I have the pleasure of entertaining the children.

I am ready to offer my service free to small schools that think foreign languages is necessary for their students. Schools in Vijayawada have not a single minute for such things. Eazy Foreign Languages has a very good image in the general public and the people of Vijayawada honor foreign languages French and German in Vijayawada.

THE THREE DAY LANGUAGE FESTIVAL

The workshop is a  feast with rare menu. If you look at the dishes offered in the menu you will gladly accept that it is the rarest feast to the children. It is also a feast to my soul. I thank the magical hand behind the ' MAGIC OF LANGUAGES"  work shop Smt. Padmakala for giving me this opportunity and rising curtain to this esoteric  extravaganza.

The children are fortunate to have such a Principal who is making the school futuristic among rustic corporate schools which can not even imagine such a work-shop. That is why children in corporate schools don't have proper English leave alone foreign language.

That is why I am extremely delighted to enjoy myslef  these three days. So I declared 3 days holidays on 11th 12th and 13th of June to  "EAZY FOREIGN LANGUAGES" Vijayawada and went on pursuing my hobby , dream and profession " foreign languages"

The first day

Dynamics of English language, the sounds of English language. The second day usage of advanced vocabulary and reading  articles and understanding the structures of English. I dealt with the beauty of English.

The third day,

13th June is the master blaster - workshop on Foreign languages. The dawn broke with great alacrity and the jubilation. The assembly starts at 8.00 am. but I started my work at 7.00 am. I met students in the hostel,  in the dining hall and under trees in the sprawling 40 acre campus. I training the students on French, German and Japanese conversations. Italian and Spanish greetings.

A SURPRISING  FÊTE   IN THE CAMPUS
I am surprised to find that each of the foreign languages attracted the children like a magnet. Just with in half an hour a dozen students were ready to perform in the assembly. I led the dozen children to the assembly where I was invited to present each of the seven foreign languages. I was elated at the invitation and swung on to the dais.

I began with Japanese speech " KYO WA SUBARASI DESU - meaning today is a beautiful day"  I spoke for two minutes in japanese and sang in japanese the "sukaki song" They are absorbed into Japanese then started the French and German Musical presentation. I  played with both languages singing the basics of the languages with various musical tunes. Fortunately there was a piano accompaniment. The piano blended with my voice and made my presentation splendid.I quickly finished my Italian and Spanish speeches as the children were eager.

STUDENTS PERFORMED IN 5 FOREIGN LANGUAGES

After the assembly the Work shop on French and German started. the work shop continued until 3.00 pm.

Personality and Sex - Gandhi and Kamaladas

There are many similarities and dissimilarities between Gandhi and Kamala Das.

The dissimilarities are Gandhi and Kalamla Das belong to two different fields,  two different sexes, they have different sexual urges, Kamala Das liberated and fulfilled (her desire by having an extramarital affair)  while Gandhi restrained but both have the guts to practise and the audacity to express. Both regretted their mistakes openly. Gandhi regretted having sexual  desire when his father was on the death bed. Kamala Das regretted changing her religion. She has the openness to say that converting to Islam was not worth.

Born on 31st March, 1934 in Kerala, Kamala Das lived a culturally enriched childhood, thanks to the influence of literary luminaries like Balamani Amma (her mother) and Nalapat Narayana Menon (her grand uncle) in her early years. Her love for writing began at a very young age. At the age of six, Ms Das created a rudimentary magazine of poems, where she would write sad poems about dolls that had lost their heads and were doomed to remain headless for eternity. The early years of her life were spent shuttling between her native home in Kerala and Calcutta, where her father, VM Nair, was posted for work.

At the age of 15, Ms Kamala was married to a banker officer - Madhava Das - much older than herself. The couple moved to the erstwhile Bombay, which is where Ms Das took to writing professionally.  Kamala Das wrote extensively under the pen name of Madhavikutty. Her writing, whether in English or Malayalam, had strong feminist leanings and she didn't shy away from discussing sex and sexuality in her stories and poems. One of her earliest published works, Sthree, a story that was published in Mathrubhumi Weekly in 1947, when Ms Das as barely 13, had lesbianism as its central theme.

Through the 50s and 60s, she continued writing in her signature confessional and graphic writing style, talking about women's issues - struggling with sexism, understanding and experimenting with their own sexuality, childbirth, love, desire, loneliness, being stifled, emotional disillusionment. Her undeterred style and volume of poetry-writing led her to earn the label of 'The Mother Of Modern English Indian Poetry'.

In 1972, when her family was faced with financial trouble, Ms. Das had to focus her energies on writing columns, because they paid better. She started writing for a popular Malayalam weekly, Malayalanadu, in the same brutally honest tone of voice and on controversial subjects. A compilation of Ms Das columns was published in 1973 as Ente Katha, an autobiography. It was a serialised version of her ruminations about her teenage love for a neighbour, her feelings towards her failed arranged marriage, the birth of her children, the extramarital affairs she had, and even experiments with sexuality.

In 1977, Ente Katha as translated into English, while borrowing from the 1970 memoir she had started writing in English, but had later converted to Malayalam and used as the raw material for her column. The English version of Ms Das' autobiography, My Story, too was a considered a literary sensation and remains one of the most popular and controversial autobiographies by an Indian author.

Ms Das' popularity and list of awards grew - she has won the prestigious Sahitya Akademi award, Asian World Prize, Kent Award, Asian Poetry Prize, Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, and many others - so did her tryst with controversies and contradictions. In 1999, at the age of 65, Kamala Das converted to Islam and assumed the name Kamala Surayya.  I had discussed my strong feelings about Islam with my husband. He advised me not to treat the issue lightly. He felt religion could not be changed as easily as we change our clothes. He advised me to study it deeply and only then take a decision... I thought about it a lot. I have been nurturing the idea in my mind for the last 27 years. I had been thinking about conversion for the last seven years, but put off my decision for one reason or another."
However, in the twilight years of her life, in an interview with The Hindu, she admitted that she regretted making the decision. "I fell in love with a Muslim (man) after my husband's death. He was kind and generous in the beginning. But I now feel one shouldn't change one's religion. It is not worth it."

The vow of Gandhi’s brahmacharya was popular.  Gandhi spoke about Brahmacharya passionately and emotionally. He told the teen girl to serve him in this holy purpose. Basically, he manipulated his grand-niece Manu to fulfill his vow. Yes, she voluntarily slept with Gandhi naked and was forced to use a single blanket.

After 1946, when his wife Kasturba died after prolonged illness  Gandhi  made experiments with his grand-niece Manuben Gandhi - a young teen girl - often seen in the pictures assisting Gandhi wherever he goes for walk - to sleep naked with him in the same bed.

The popular leaders of Congress Vallabhbhai Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru and many of his close aides even confronted him and asked him to stop this . But Gandhi refused and instead replied he is experimenting his Bramacharya.

Even Manuben acknowledged she slept and bath with him naked. Worst of all she was not the only girl he groomed for his perversion. She suffered from life-long psychological problems and was harassed by seniors Indian leaders to not divulge the truth in public but Gandhi did.

Better reasons behind Social Work

Poolabala with teachers at Heal

One can undoubtedly develop human relations through social work. Knowledge dissemination is the best social work. Hunger and poverty are main reasons for much of social work   done so far in India. I have betters reasons for doing social work. The first reason is that I have seen high levels of ignorance and low levels of self confidence in many educated people. (Particularly the knowledge of the world, history, literature is at a low ebb. People have no common sense of self education.  If people have the common sense why don't they educate themselves? It is a fact that most educated people stay away from books and indulge in movies and videos.) Secondly I have found that the knowledge deprivation hampered thinking, reasoning and maturity. As a result we see people acquire skewed personality and grotesque behavior. I have several years of rich experience of diverse reading. It takes years for the beginners to make a careful selection of reading. I have a repertoire of world history, literature and cultures. In a brief discourse I wish I must enrich the knowledge of the learners.   Finally, I enjoy meeting new people that is why I am into social work. I believe that offering knowledge is better than offering money or food.  Money and food are temporary but education is inexhaustible treasure.

Normally I create opportunities  for the social work. I ask my friends on facebook, students who learn foreign languages, parents and other people who visit me for an opportunity to serve a school or college. Fortunately one of my German students, Dr. Geetika offered me a chance to serve a remote organization.  It is not only a big organization but also an ideal organization.

HEAL – Health and Education for All  is a UK-based charity for orphans and poor children in India, with fundraising chapters in the United States, Australia, India and Europe. A new school and home for 1,000 disadvantaged children is being built  at Thotapalli, near Vijayawada city, in Andhra Pradesh, in India. This organizaton is founded by Dr. Satya. A few months ago I have seen a video in which the founder Dr Satya Prasad showed how work was progressing and explained what will soon be provided for the children. I never thought I  would one day visit this school.

It was 4.30 in evening when I visited the Headmistress of the school. She is very punctual and loves work  and children. She offered me tea. when we finished tea the class was ready. I entered a big classroom where twenty teachers were waiting. I introduced myself. the teachers were happy to meet a man who speaks six foreign languages. I explained the difference between language and speech.  we discussed many aspects  from basics of phonetics to advanced English grammar. The headmistress was also present. One of the teachers, on my request took two snaps. Here are the photos.

The road was quite long and rough. Dr. Geetika picked me up at the Ramavarappadu highway. we traveled by car.  It is less than a week since she joined German language course in Vijayawada. I spoke in German with her all through the journey. perhaps it is the longest time I have ever spoken German with a beginner. Fortunately , it has solved her fears. That is another story.

A Terrestrial Travel

On 7th April, 2018 we ( my fellow traveler and I) visited two interesting places with historical and-cultural-significance-in the state of Andhrapradesh. We first headed to Jaladheeswara temple at Ghantasala village, the fourth ancient temple that belongs to 1st century which was installed by Agastya. We were stopped at the entrance as the colossus of Ghantasala, Jaladheeswara and gowthama Buddha where the air is suffused  with the transcendental panorama. The mystic received goosebumps.

There is nothing new or exciting  in the temple of Jaladheeswara to the ordinary. Everything is banal to a dull spirited and blunt witted man. The historic truth hidden behind the temple unveils the intense spiritual feeling. The stone inscriptions showing that the temple  belongs to 1st century titillates the senses and at once you feel the aura of Agastya.

On the return journey we stopped at Movva. The small village is the birthplace of the great 17th century composer Kshetrayya. We could not learn much about kshetrayya but we were content with the sight of the village centre and the jabled temple of Krishna. I have a penchant for old styled houses. I took a snap of the 1980s house and had a brief conversation with the house owner. The castle-type ancient houses of 60s and 70s are tug at heart. wow! castle or house?

In our onward journey we first embarked on  pamarru stopped for a while at Hitam school and continued to Ghantasala via , kuchipudi and movva, finally landed at Ghantasala the Nigara to my heart.

The back roads were  surrounded by greenery and  were dotted by villages. The ample way-side ponds are filled with brilliant red lotuses that stung our eyes.

I kissed the crimson lotus flowers (my camera) that sedated me. For breakfast we sojourned at Kuchipudi village where the EPONYMOUS classical dance form is being nurtured for centuries.

When we resumed our journey after the breakfast vistas of green trees and clean serene cement roads buzzing with silence, ancient castle-like houses enriched our journey. They looked like oriental dancers lined up to invite us to Ghantasala singing the traditional welcome song.

The return journey is a PHANTAS MAGORIA of exuberant images but my emotion laden heart was consistently railed by languorous Kshetrayya padam compositions which were simpatico to my wistful thoughts that melted down with the cooing of French greetings at the Launching ceremony of French program at HITAM school @ Pamarru. The mysterious journey lost its spiritual moisture and the day shriveled its face and finally transmuted  into an effervescent  French class echoing with euphoric French salutations!!!

The Indian who wrote more books in Foreign languages

Poolabala wrote most books in Foreign languages. He has written books to learn foreign languages such as French, German, Spanish, Italian, ...
