Memorable Moments of Poolabala

మనం చేసేపని వల్లే మనకి గౌరవం, అవమానం. నా ఇరవై సంవత్సరాల వృత్తి జీవితంలో అనేకసార్లు సన్మానాలు గ్రహించాను. అన్నిటిలోకి ఈ సన్మానం మరుపురాని మధురానిభూతిని మిగిల్చింది. పెదఅవుటుపల్లి సాయి శ్రీనివాసా స్కూల్ వారి ప్రేమ సుమాలు మాపై వర్షించాయి. ఏదైనా స్కూల్ కి సేవ చేసి, మళ్ళీ నాపనిలో నేను పడి వాళ్ళని  మర్చిపోతుంటాను. నేను మర్చిపోయినా నన్ను ఆ స్కూల్ వాళ్ళు మర్చిపోలేదు. 

నేను జర్మన్ క్లాస్ లో ఉన్నాను.  స్టూడెంట్స్ చేత జర్మన్ ప్రాక్టీస్ చేయిస్తుండగా. ఎవరో నలుగురు గ్రామస్తులు వచ్చారు. వాళ్ళు ముందు గదిలో కూర్చుని ఎదురు చూస్తున్నారు. వాళ్ళ పిల్లల కి ఏదైనా ఫారింగ్ లాంగ్వేజ్ అవసరమేమో అందుకే వచ్చారు అనుకున్నాను.   క్లాస్ ముగించిన తరువాత "మీరు మాతో రావాలి అన్నారు."  వారు పెద అవుటుపల్లి గ్రామస్తులని, నన్ను సన్మానం చేయడానికి తీసుకు వెళ్ళడానికి వచ్చారని తెలిసింది. స్కూల్ వారు  ఆహ్వానిస్తే  వద్దన్నానని నన్ను  తీసుకు  వెళ్ళడానికి గ్రామస్తులు వచ్చారని తెలిసి అవాక్కయ్యాను. నేను వాళ్ళ వూళ్ళో  స్కూల్ కి చిన్న సేవ చేస్తే  వాళ్ళ  ఊరికి చేసిన సేవగా భావించి పెదవుటుపల్లి సాయిబాబా  సంఘం వారు ఈ రకంగా స్పందించడం ఆశ్చర్యాన్ని కలిగించింది.  నన్ను నా భార్యని తీసుకెళ్లి వేదమంత్రాలతో  సన్మానించారు. 

ఇంతకీ నేను చేసినది గొప్ప పనీ కాదు అరుదైన పని కాదు గన్నవరం వద్ద ఉన్న సాయి శ్రీనివాసా స్కూల్ పిల్లలకి మూడు వారాలపాటు ఎండాకాలం సెలవల్లో ఇంగ్లిష్ బోధించాను. కాకపొతే ప్రతి మధ్యాన్నం క్లాస్ 4. 00  లకు.  అంటే  3. 00 గంటలకు బయలుదేరి వెళ్లాల్సి వచ్చేది.  

What I did was neither great nor rare but their response was rare.  I just taught English language to their school children during summer holidays for three weeks. It is a great pleasure to teach children except for the  one hour journey in the summer afternoon. As we sow so we reap. Honour or dishonour is the result of our deeds. In my professional career more than two decades, I have been felicitated several times. But This felicitation is distinctive  and wondrous. 

Sai Sreenivasa school is marked by active interest in imparting a good culture to the students through practice not though preaching which is  the summum bonum education. Among the dime a dozen schools of Yahoo genre the school not only looks different but also works differently.
