Eventus - Sonnet

సెప్టెంబర్ 9 రాత్రి  విజయవాడ హనుమంతరాయ గ్రంథాలయంలో మా అమ్మాయి ఋగ్వేదం పద్మశ్రీ సంగీతప్రతిభ తో అంతర్జాతీయ పురస్కారం గెలుచుకోవడాన్ని పురస్కరించుకుని ఏర్పాటయిన సభలో  నాకు చిరు సత్కారం జరిగింది.   వేదిక నెక్కి   నా అర్థాంగి వరలక్షి తో కలిసి మల్లాది విష్ణు గారి చేతుల మీదుగా సన్మాన పత్రాన్ని తీసుకున్నాను (ము).  నిండైన మనసుతో వేదిక పై  పుష్పగుచ్ఛం ఇచ్చి శుభాకాంక్షలు అందించిన అజ్ఞాత స్త్రీ మూర్తి ప్రేమకి పులకరించి నా మనసు కురిపించిన  ఆంగ్లకవిత  ఇవెంటస్ ( లాటిన్ )  ఇవెంటస్ అంటే విజయం అని అర్థం.

                                              Eventus 

You never know what a mighty work of love might eventuate

what love’s might can accentuate, you can’t foresee love’s power

the will to strive and the unyielding will that it can effectuate

You never know what is in cover and what bouquets shower.

ప్రేమ యొక్క శక్తి నీలో నిద్రాణంగా ఉన్న దేన్ని 

నిద్ర లేపుతుందో నీకు తెలియదు చెక్కుచెదరని 

విశ్వాసం లేదా మొక్కవోని దీక్ష ఏదైనా కావచ్చు

ఒక దీక్ష సాధించే విజయం పై  ఏ పూలు వర్షిస్తాయో తెలియదు.  

Don’t wait or write for the friend who lives in the trend

Close friends close eyes when you are in the limelight

They spend their time with gigs and tend to pretend

There is nothing before them  though you are in sight 

 ఎంత గొప్ప పని చేసినా  కపట స్నేహితులు పట్టించుకోరు

వాళ్ళ ఆటలో వాళ్ళు మునిగి ఉంటారు. నువ్వు ఎదుగుతుంటే 

వాళ్ళు కళ్ళు మూసుకుంటారు . ఎదురుగా ఉన్నా లేనట్టే 

నటిస్తారు. కపట స్నేహితుల నైజం ఇంతే.  

Fake friends spew silence to blanket your merit

Silence can not the light of  merited  conceal 

Merit is the sun that shines above the blanket 

Fake friends under blanket their nature reveal 

కపట స్నేహితులు నిశ్శబ్దం అనే విషం కక్కుతారు 

నీ ప్రతిభ  అనే వెలుగు పై  మౌనం దుప్పటి కప్పుతారు 

 కపట స్నేహితుల మౌనం ప్రతిభ ప్రకాశాన్ని ఆపలేదు 

 ప్రతిభ  ఆకాశంలో  సూర్యుడిలా ప్రకాశిస్తుంది. 

Silence is the other form of jealousy that plays its part

invoking indifference to kill  great works of art 

When Fake friends like rats and go into their holes

From the unknown masses emerge the genuine souls 

అసూయకి మరో రూపం నిశ్శబ్దం అది కళ  గొంతు 

కోయడానికి ఉదాసీనతను పిలిచి  పీట  వేస్తుంది. 

కపట స్నేహితులు ఎలుకల్లా  కలుగుల్లో  దూరినప్పుడు

జన సమూహం నుంచి నిష్కపట కళాభిమానులు 

 స్వచ్ఛమైన  అభినందన సుమాలు కురిపిస్తారు. 

 The taskmaster never fails Magnum opus

 He blesses the merit and confers Eventus

 ఉద్గ్రంధాలు ఎప్పుడూ  ఓడిపోవు 

దేవుడే వాటికి విజయాన్ని ప్రసాదిస్తాడు
