Budding Entrepreneur

She named her business.“Delicious chocolate –specialty grocery store.” She started her Facebook page that won 10000 likes and a website integrated into her FB page. Now the business is going great guns.

Change starts with an idea. When the idea becomes reality, it transforms lives!!

Deepika a final year B.Tech student at K.L University sets off with her delicious idea. Change starts with an idea. When the idea becomes reality, it transforms lives. She is the young entrepreneur from the city who is busy with her studies and business. She is also learning German language in Vijayawada at Eazy Foreign languages Vijayawada. She kick started her micro enterprise and is steadily striding towards a big success. I just want to help my father. It was only a vague idea in the beginning. I was not sure that I would make the chocolate choice but I was a delicious choice. She is quite pragmatic she doesn’t fantasize like other students of her age.

“A great career is not awaiting the student at the end of engineering. I have no illusions about engineering career.” says Deepika. She rather clings to the reality. It is true in the current market scenario most of the engineering graduates embrace some sort of a job to escape the burden of unemployment lest they should bear the brunt of frustration. Entrepreneurship is not only a cool avenue but also a great honor. She considers that investing lacs on engineering degree is merely waste of money and time. Deepika is an ideal example to the students who think that degrees should not be ornamental.

“When it comes to any kind of special moments or memorable events the first gift comes into everyone's mind were CHOCOLATES obviously chocolate is something you can give anyone irrespective of their age groups.” Says Deepika. Entrepreneurship is not cinch When asked – entrepreneurship or the process of starting a business or an organization is highly risky. Deepika says “But taking risk is better than dwelling in distress of unemployment or stress of underemployment.” She is lighthearted about the competition because there is competition in every corner of the life.

In fact entrepreneurship emerged as a career option due to the cut-throat competition and dwindling opportunities in the formal sectors. This is why more and more students are driven towards starting their own venture upon graduation. Any individual who has a dream to do something on his own can seriously consider entrepreneurship as a career option. This gives a clue to the fact that engineering dropouts are increasing year after year. According to the study, from 2009 to 2011, 1.6 lakh students who took admission in engineering colleges have dropped out of the course midway. Of course, one has to start right from the scratch with or without the help of degrees like Entrepreneurship MBA.

Deepika started right from the scratch. “I want to help my parents right now. My marriage is fixed and I am soon going to Germany. “she says. Her fiancé wants her to study in Germany. Now she is learning German language. This entrepreneurship is to support those who are facing the risk of a job because jobs may not be permanent. Tomorrow I want to support my husband too. says the zealous entrepreneur who hangs on to the ground reality. She is consistently on fire ever since got this idea. It was only a vague idea. I was not sure that I would make the chocolate choice. I went to Hyderabad two years ago to learn some skills to start my own venture. I took part in a 3 day  training on chocolate making and finally emerged as Delicious chocolate – specialty grocery store. She started her web page and a website. Now the Business is going great guns but in the beginning I had very tough time.

Deepika says that on one hand the business demands key skills of creativity, and marketing. Making attractive packaging and novel designs, purchasing raw materials from Mumbai involves travelling are mandatory without beautiful carvings, packing we can’t secure the market. On the other hand the market is full of traps and pit-falls. The competitors were foul. They used to give me a heart burn with fake calls and fake enquires. The business was completely online. You get a call you get the order. You would be happy. You prepare the chocolates pack them in specialty packs and wait the phone call. But the customer would not call again or respond. The fake orders always left me in quandary and chaos. I did not know whether the order was genuine I was not sure whether I can prepare the chocolates. It was a compulsory experience in other words it was a quick training home delivered free of cost. Indeed it is more important than the training I had at Hyderabad.

Fair chances and good people:

Deepika thinks that she cannot blame the world and lose the business. “The world is how it is we have to fit into that.” The market is not all foul people there are good people too. Some chances are fair chances. On various occasions such as New year day, Valentine’s day, Friendship day, the chocolates are on great demand. Some colleges have offered chances to set up a stall but she had to lose those offers because her father doesn’t like them. Our culture imposes restrictions several on girls and gives boys a carte blanche. Carte blanch to boys and crux to girls. Had she been a boy it would have been different. “We make specially attractive and delicious chocolates for wedding anniversaries and House warming functions too. “The chocolate floral bouquets, chocolates with names of the customers are most sought after and customers go bonkers for the chocolates with pictures of the customers. Her chocolates are now being exported to the USA. “endlich  ich bin glücklich” ( finally I’ m happy) she says in German.

I was writing the article "Budding entrepreneur" showcasing the student's work. I can finally say where there is a will there is a way. Thank you for reading.
